Getting Around Town in the Mazda CX-3

The good people over at Mazda asked me to take their 2018 CX-3 around the city of Atlanta for a week and give my thoughts on the experience.  Knowing that I had friends coming in town to visit Atlanta for the first time, I thought it’d be great to use their visit as an overall test.

I was lucky (?) enough to have the CX-3 during one of the rare Atlanta snowstorms, and got the chance to see how it handled slick terrains.  Thankfully, the car handled the ice with ease and I never felt like I’d lost control of the car when driving on roads with snow and ice still on the ground.

The snowstorm also provided for blistering cold winds and temperatures, but the CX-3’s heated seats and steering wheel made hanging out in the city at night a little less chilly.  You could barely hear those winds inside the cabin as well, which is a big plus for me, because I hate driving vehicles where you hear every single outside sound.

The car itself is super-aware, with notifications for when the car may lean over into another lane, and signals for when a car is approaching one of your sides to make sure you don’t attempt to change lanes haphazardly.  It took a while to get used to, but once I did, I welcomed the notices.  I definitely felt safer.

The only setback I saw was the size, but the bigger CX-5 covers that if you need more space, but want the luxuries of the CX-3.

Thanks Mazda for letting me experience the CX-3 and get around the city in comfort.
